University Writing releases guidance for faculty on artificial intelligence

Artificial Intelligence, or AI, applications like ChatGPT offer new opportunities and challenges for teachers and for students. University Writing has released guidelines or faculty response to AI on the office's resources page. The guidelines are organized according to four modes of response: prohibition, permission, pedagogy and engagement; the first two also include sample syllabus language that faculty can adapt to their specific courses.
