The Office of Faculty Engagement offers campus-wide assistance and advocacy to all faculty creating programs and activities that that align with AU’s community outreach mission. This is accomplished through a variety of initiatives, including those listed below, plus an annual award recognizing faculty success and commitment to that mission.

Meet the 2024 Winner
Award for Excellence in Faculty Outreach
Congratulations to Dr. JoEllen Sefton, a professor in the College of Education and the winner of the 2024 Award for Excellence in Faculty Outreach! She has been recognized for her work in finding solutions to problems faced by military personnel, police officers, firefighters and first responders. Dr. Sefton's research focuses on enhancing readiness by improving health and fitness, boosting physical and technical performance and developing better vehicles and equipment. Her goal is to help these professionals effectively stay healthy and safe while meeting the demands of their jobs.
