A child asthma management clinic was held in September 2022 in LaFayette, AL. Education sessions were focused on helping families gain more understanding about child asthma, signs and symptoms, triggers, daily asthma management, and creating an asthma action plan. Also included were demonstrations of asthma medication devices.

According the the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 1 in 12 or 6 million children ages 0-17 years in the US have asthma.

Asthma is a chronic condition causing wheezing, difficulty breathing, or coughing. Healthcare providers screen for asthma and assess the child, medications, and asthma action plan.

More children with asthma are learning to control their asthma using an asthma action plan. Such a plan helps children use medicine properly and avoid asthma triggers like tobacco smoke, pet dander, and air pollution.

FREE SCREENINGS AND WALK-INS WELCOME DURING CLINIC HOURS.
