Victoria A. Zona is from Daphne, Alabama and is a Graduate Research Assistant and Presidential Graduate Research Fellow in Dr. Miranda Reed’s lab in the Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy Department of Drug Discovery and Development. Zona received her master’s degree in Pharmacology from Georgetown University and an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Auburn University. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Pharmacology.

In Dr. Miranda Reed’s lab, she investigates synaptic alterations and the behavioral/cognitive effects of prenatal cannabinoid exposure in animal models. Techniques include (1), ceramic-based multisite microelectrodes for in vivo sub-second electrochemical detection of neurotransmitters, (2) immunohistochemistry and immunoblotting, and (3) the use of cognitive tasks to investigate synaptic alterations in learning and memory.
