Auburn Highlights

I grew up in an Auburn family and raised my daughter to love the university as much as I do. Over the years, football Saturdays were our tradition. We've also come to love just visiting on random days/weekends, so that we can try new restaurants, walk around the downtown shops, and catch up with our daughter between classes and activities. Some of our favorites are Amsterdam, Hamilton’s on Fridays, and Moe’s Bar B Que just to name a few. Auburn is magical any time of the year!

Tips

As you navigate your student being away from home, don’t be afraid to ask questions – most likely someone has been in a similar situation. Also, keep the information from Camp War Eagle on campus/community resources on hand. This is a great way to be prepared for calls from your student during stressful times with ideas on how to move forward. Be prepared to finalize housing in early fall for the next year. Get on apartment lists early to receive updates on application timelines, so you don’t miss out on your preferred options. Finally, come visit your student during the year when the campus is not as crowded. Try some of the great restaurants in the area, take in the beauty of Chewacla or Lake Martin, and spend some quality time letting your student to show you what they love about Auburn!
