Any employee hosting an international visitor on official business at any Auburn University location must request approval from the Office of Research Security Compliance at least one month prior to the proposed visit.
An international visitor is defined as:
- An individual who is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, or
- An individual who is representing or is an employee of a foreign interest, regardless of citizenship status
Official business includes:
- Visits to research labs
- Visits for collaborations/discussions, including development activities
- Visits for vending purposes
- Visits for lectures/speaking/hiring engagements
- Visits for potential hires/interview purposes (unless candidate previously screened by the Office of Research Security Compliance)
- Visits for mentorship or internship purposes
- Visits for training on AU’s campus
Visitor approval is not required for attendance at athletic events or open conferences or for potential students on a campus tour, unless they are potential graduate students on a tour regarding a specific area of study or research.
After completing the visitor request form at aub.ie/intlcampusvisitor (https://www.auburn.edu/academic/international/international-visitor-request.php), you will receive a decision from Research Security Compliance via e-mail. If you have any questions, please contact Tony Novara at tan0005@auburn.edu.
