Auburn News is the university’s weekly email newsletter for more than 15,000 faculty and staff. Published every Tuesday at 6 a.m., it delivers timely content to inform, inspire, educate and celebrate the people and progress that define campus life. Content for Auburn News comes from the AU Wire.

What we consider

Content that resonates with a broad audience and is relevant to all faculty and staff, including:

  • Campus-wide announcements, such as Faculty Award nominations are open or the Onboarding Center has a new home.

  • University highlights, such as research breakthroughs and institutional impact.

  • Significant awards, publications and retirements for 20+ years of service, top leadership or a notable legacy.

  • Obituaries for current and former faculty and staff who made a significant contribution to Auburn or served in a top leadership role.

  • Events

    • Use the Events Calendar.

    • We prioritize submissions that emphasize the significance, meaning and value of the event for attendees, like this.

  • Off-campus events are considered if:

    • They are held at a university-owned facility,

    • There is a direct connection to the university or

    • Appeals to the broader university community.

  • Requests for research subjects if:

    • The request is part of a larger research story. Note: The story author is responsible for ensuring the IRB board reviewed the request.

    • The submitter confirms with OCM that the IRB board reviewed the request.

Note: Feature-length stories on the above topics must be added to the Wire via Cascade.

We don't publish

  • Offcampus or external service announcements, unless universityled.

  • Individual fundraising, unless Auburn is directly involved, like the Beat Bama Food Drive and AU Dream Makers.

  • Routine promotions or transfers. Exceptions: The annual promotion and tenure list from the Office of the Provost and when a faculty member is promoted to a leadership position such as department chair.
