This Week@Auburn is the official student-focused email newsletter. Published every Monday at 6 a.m., it provides timely content to inform and celebrate our students, build pride in their shared Auburn experience, and enhance campus engagement.
The newsletter is automatically delivered to every student's university email account and students may not opt out. It is considered an official university communication and often contains important, time-sensitive information.
Submitting Content
Start with your college or unit communicators
Auburn administrators, leaders and lead communicators can submit content for consideration using the Submission Form.
Submission Deadlines
The deadline is 12:00 p.m. on the Thursday before each Monday's distribution. For time-sensitive content, submit it at least two weeks in advance.
Event Submissions
For an event, visit calendar.auburn.edu and click “Post Your Event” to add it to the public calendar. If your event falls under the Campus Events Policy, click “Submit an Event Request” to be redirected to the Campus Events Planning System (CEPS).
Guidelines and Best Practices
Editorial Decisions
Decisions regarding content rest solely with the Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM) staff. For questions or clarification on the guidelines, contact Amy Weaver at OCM@auburn.edu.
Individual Projects, Pursuits, Accolades
-
We review awards and accolades on a case-by-case basis, with items of major significance and wider appeal receiving greater consideration.
-
Off-campus events must have a clear, direct connection to the university and our land-grant mission.
-
We do not promote group or individual fundraising unless Auburn is directly involved (e.g., Beat Bama Food Drive and AU Dream Makers).
Optimal Length of Content
Posts are typically two to three paragraphs long. If more information is needed, include a link to a website and a point of contact for questions in the post.
Standalone Emails
Standalone emails may be distributed on a case-by-case basis and only when necessary. The topic must be deemed critical to university operations as determined by the vice president of public affairs, communication and marketing, or their designee.
Opting Out of This Week@Auburn
This Week@Auburn is considered an official university communication that conveys important and often time-sensitive information for students, including safety and security, announcements about campus construction and disruptions and other important messages.
