Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. define culture and design critical thinking activities for
cultural instruction;
2. discuss the concepts of interdisciplinary thematic units;
3. explain and demonstrate reading instruction for a variety of texts
that includes
a) pre-reading,
b) guided interaction,
c) assimilation, and
d) integration or personalization tasks.
4. develop thematic units that include activities for listening, speaking,
reading and writing
using culturally authentic materials for elementary,
middle, or high school Spanish.
