Undergraduates and graduates who are interested in pursuing a health care career (medical, dental, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy or physician assistant) should begin working with a professional in the COSAM pre-health office as soon as possible. Preparation and planning are keys to being successful. We work with everyone regardless of major. We provide advising and counseling about academic and non-academic criteria for assessing whether you are a competitive applicant as well as guidance and preparation in applying to professional school. Our professionals have years of experience in advising students who are successfully admitted to professional schools.

They are members of and actively participate in the following organizations:

  • AHPA - Alabama Health Professions Advisors
  • NAAHP- National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions
  • NACADA – National Academic Advising Association
