Employees Benefit from Open Enrollment Opportunities
Open Enrollment for 2025 benefits was highly successful, with 73% of Auburn and AUM employees actively confirming or updating their OE elections. This high participation rate was achieved despite only one significant benefit option change being introduced: a new critical illness vendor.
During October's Open Enrollment, the Benefits team communicated to all employees participating in critical illness that they could either keep their current plan and set up direct pay, or enroll in a new and enhanced plan with The Standard. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with a total of 414 new accounts elected with The Standard.
The enhanced plan offers several benefits, including 11 new covered conditions, 21 covered childhood conditions, shorter separation requirements for second events and recurrence benefits, and an increased wellness benefit from $50 to $100 per member.
Additionally, the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) experienced an increase in enrollments, with 217 new enrollments added to the plan. This continued growth in HDHP participation reflects our employees' confidence in the plan's benefits and their commitment to making informed healthcare choices.

Mental health wellness offerings enhanced
In March 2024, Uprise Health (our Employee Assistance Provider) announced new digital resources for eligible employees and their dependents. Many of these resources are available through a new wellbeing app/digital program that allows users to take wellbeing assessments, access relevant courses and webinars, and work with health coaches to set and achieve health and wellbeing goals.
Employees can also take advantage of coaching sessions that focus on personal growth, coping skills, and stress management, or therapy sessions that focus on treatment and healing.

Further Focus - HSA and FSA Accounts
Employees are actively taking advantage of Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) to manage their healthcare expenses more effectively.
This year, there were a significant number of enrollments in both HSAs (nearly 1,000) and FSAs (nearly 1,900 for medical), reflecting our employees' commitment to making informed financial decisions for their health and well-being.
