HR Conference Enhances Roles, Development of 300 Attendees

year's Auburn University HR Conference was a resounding success. This second-year event provided over 300 attendees with essential tools and valuable insights that greatly enhanced their roles and professional development at Auburn and AUM. There was no cost to individuals attending the conference.

The conference featured interactive workshops and networking opportunities, allowing attendees to learn about a variety of HR-related topics, connect with peers, and exchange ideas. Team members from Microsoft provided training throughout the day, sharing tips to help attendees optimize tools such as Copilot, Word, Excel, and more.

President Christopher B. Roberts opened the conference, thanking attendees for their service to Auburn and emphasizing the importance of pursuing excellence in their roles. Afternoon keynote speaker Jeff Henderson closed the conference by discussing the power of 'FOR.'

The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the quality of the sessions and the expertise of the speakers. Over 96% of attendees who completed the post-conference survey said they would be interested in attending future conferences.

The 2025 conference will be held on July 23.

UHR and the Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM) are working together to keep employees updated with the latest HR-related news.

HR Happenings appears weekly in AU News, focusing on important HR updates, events, and initiatives. In 2024, over 60 items were published in HR Happenings, including updates on Aspire Auburn, Open Enrollment, planned FLSA changes, and much more.

Further Focus - Targeted Communications

This year, HR Communications will team up with UHR units to produce more targeted communications for supervisors and timekeepers. The goal is to improve their understanding and execution of HR policies and procedures by tailoring relevant information to their roles. This approach will ensure they receive timely updates and resources.
